The name Tie Guan Yin translates to "Iron Goddess of Mercy," tracing its legend to a tea farmer who discovered a temple to the goddess in a cave. This oolong is distinguished by its tightly rolled leaves, which unfurl during steeping to release a rich, amber-hued infusion.
