Golden Bud Black Tea

Sale price$35.00

Taste: Hazelnut, Caramel, Chocolate

Serving: Each bag (3.9 oz) makes around 50 to 60 cups of tea, depending on your taste preference.

This tea wasn’t passed down for centuries. It was created in 2005 by tea makers in Wuyishan who wanted to try something new, using only the tiniest spring buds, no leaves, no compromise. It takes nearly 60,000 hand-plucked tips to make just 500 grams. The result is golden in color, rich in meaning. In Chinese culture, gold means honor, value, and good fortune, which is one reason this tea is often given as a gift. It is young, but already one of China’s most respected black teas.

Heart Health Healthy Circulation

Full oxidation transforms tea catechins into distinctive compounds such as theaflavins and thearubigins, giving black tea its deeper color and a different polyphenol profile from green tea. Human studies have linked regular black tea intake with improvements in endothelial function, the ability of blood vessels to relax and respond to blood flow, while theaflavins have also shown measurable effects on peripheral microcirculation.

Our Sourcing

Our Sourcing

Wuyishan, China

The Wuyi Mountains in northern Fujian are one of China’s most celebrated tea-growing regions. Steep rocky slopes, mineral-rich soils, frequent mist, and abundant rainfall create a cool, humid environment where tea plants can grow slowly and develop more concentrated flavor. The mountains also experience noticeable temperature changes between day and night, which helps the leaves build aroma while retaining freshness. Combined with the region’s long history of tea cultivation and highly refined processing traditions, these conditions give Wuyi teas their characteristic depth, mineral structure, and layered fragrance.
