Phoenix Oolong, also known as Phoenix Dan Cong 凤凰单丛, is celebrated for its extraordinary natural fragrance. Dan Cong, meaning “single origin,” refers to a tea tradition in which different bush lines are cultivated and crafted for their own distinct aromatic character. Over time, Phoenix Dan Cong became known for its many classic fragrance styles. Among them, we chose Mi Lan Xiang 蜜蘭香, or Honey Orchid. The moment it began to brew, we could smell it from several steps away. Its aroma rose from the cup with notes of wildflower honey, orchid bloom, and soft ripe fruit. We looked at the tea maker and said right away: this was the one.

Our Phoenix Oolong comes from the Phoenix Mountains of Chaozhou, Guangdong, the historic home of Phoenix Dan Cong tea. Tea trees grow along the mountain slopes, where misty conditions and distinct day-to-night temperature changes encourage the leaves to develop their naturally complex aroma. Traditionally, exceptional trees were harvested and crafted individually, giving rise to the name “Dan Cong,” or single bush. Careful oxidation and roasting bring out the tea’s signature layers of floral, honey-like fragrance and a lingering mineral sweetness known locally as its mountain character.

Best Phoenix Oolong I've had in my life. True to its name, a sip of this tea ignites something in me. I'll call it joy. I can taste the land and its contours and rain and leaf. It's at once a floral and deep, malty, earthy flavor. I can taste the dedication of the tea pluckers and masters who made this tea possible. I love drinking it by itself, and blended with CHAFOLIO Honey Black or any variety of Jasmine in a 1:1 ratio. Also, it makes an unforgettable milk tea. This is not just a drink. It's an experience. I decided to try this since I like the other oolongs I have from you. It is lovely. I like the fruity undertones.
The only one of your teas I have been disappointed in is the Dragonwell. I have bought it before but always given it away. this time I bought it for myself and it is not Dragonwell tea as I know it. But all in all I think your teas are high priced but delicious and while I often do rested any I do occasionally when I want to have something to drink in the afternoon and I know the caffeine is water soluble so mostly gone in the first cup.

I used this Phoenix Oolong to make lemon tea and it turned out really good. The tea has enough aroma and body, so it doesn’t get covered up by the lemon. It tastes fresh, smooth, and way better than using regular tea bags.
