Yuzu 柚子 originates from the southwest to central regions of China. It was never treated as a fruit meant for pleasure or abundance. Instead, it remained a quiet presence, valued for the way it could gently shape what surrounded it. That same sensibility lives in oolong. Partially oxidized and carefully crafted, oolong favors balance over intensity. When paired together, yuzu does not lead, it supports, allowing the tea’s structure and depth to remain intact while bringing a clean, composed finish.

Yuzu brings together the benefits of both fruit and peel. Its peel is especially rich in vitamin C, phenolic compounds, and citrus flavonoids such as hesperidin and naringin; research has found yuzu peel to contain even higher levels of vitamin C and total phenolics than the flesh itself.

Really like the balance of this one. You can taste the oolong, but the yuzu gives it a light citrus note that makes it more fun to drink. Not too sweet, not too floral, just easy and refreshing.

I used this tea to make a cheese foam tea and it turned out surprisingly good. The yuzu flavor cuts through the creamy topping really nicely, so it tastes rich but still fresh. Definitely making it again.

I smell gentle yuzu and oolong, but when I sip it, it was very close to Earlgrey. I think this is a nice tea to begin with before trying Earlgrey for first-timers.
