Chrysanthemum Ginseng Tea

Sale price$20.00

Taste: Honey, Fresh Cucumber, Earthy

Ingredients: Chrysanthemum, Goji Berry, Longan, Jujube, Dried Ginseng

Serving: Each bag contains 8 sachets and makes around 15 cups of tea, depending on your taste preference.

You don’t forget the smell of chrysanthemum tea. Soft, earthy, a little like fall sunlight on old pages. In many Chinese homes, it’s what grandma makes when your eyes are tired, your body feels off, or you’re feeling “too hot,” a sign of internal heat or shang huo. We blend whole chrysanthemum flowers with red dates, goji berries, and longan, fruits rooted in traditional medicine and known to cool the body, soothe the liver, and brighten the eyes. And just a touch of ginseng is gently layered in, adding a quiet strength to the blend.

Dried herbs, goji berries, and flowers arranged in a circle on a white background—perfect for creating the Chafolio Mother’s Day Herbal Tea Set.

Eye Wellness Antioxidant Protection

Traditionally valued in Chinese wellness for supporting clear, comfortable eyes, chrysanthemum flowers contain flavonoids and phenolic compounds with strong antioxidant activity. Laboratory research using hot-water chrysanthemum extracts has shown protection of retinal cells against oxidative damage, offering a modern scientific perspective on its long-standing association with eye wellness.

Restorative Energy Inner Vitality

In traditional Chinese medicine, ginseng is valued for replenishing Qi — a concept closer to restoring inner vitality than providing a quick burst of energy. Modern research offers a parallel perspective: ginseng’s active compounds, called ginsenosides, have been studied for supporting the body’s response to fatigue and helping maintain physical and mental resilience over time.

Our Sourcing

Tongxiang, China

Tongxiang has been cultivating Hangzhou white chrysanthemum for centuries, with generations of growers refining the way the flowers are harvested and dried. The region’s mild, humid climate helps produce blossoms with a clean floral aroma and naturally gentle sweetness. We look for flowers that are harvested at the right stage of bloom, preserving their fresh fragrance and soft, rounded character.

This is one of my favorite chrysanthemum blends I’ve had! It’s lightly floral and herbal, with notes of fresh cucumber and a deep, fruity sweetness that’s almost like condensed milk. I usually like to add a bit of rock sugar or honey to a chrysanthemum tea or blend, but this one doesn’t need it at all 💕

A lovely “cooling” and balancing blend that I keep on reaching for. I always make sure to have some in my tea hoard 🤩🍵🌼

📝 Small tip: If you brew it straight in a cup or mug, I like to sip from the side where more red dates have gathered. The little date “dam” helps keep everything from floating into your mouth haha!

I got this tea at the farmers market and it instantly became my favorite tea and what I drink 90% of the time now. It’s fresh, not too sweet, and has a gorgeous scent and taste. It’s revitalizing any time of the day.

A few weeks later, I’m back for two more bags and to try a new flavor, too 🥰

The ginseng is a bit strong. And the jujubes are not as fragrant as the once I use daily at home. This product has a very thoughtful combination, but flavor wise is more of a medicinal taste.

This is a very warming, heart-filling and healing tea. The tea has a smooth, floral taste with the strongest notes coming from chrysanthemum. The quality of the tea is unmatched, with the bright color of the chrysanthemums being present even though they are dried. The tea provides and experience akin to a warm hug or a bowl of congee prepared by a loved one when you are sick.
